AMIC’s Patrick Hutchinson speaks to “The Daily Brief” host George Donikian on the weakened state of the $21b meat manufacturing industry.

Australian Meat Industry Council’s CEO, Patrick Hutchinson, speaks to George Donikian about the challenges facing Australia’s $21 billion red meat manufacturing industry. The Council is calling on government to provide greater support particularly around streamlining the excessive red-tape burden and costs meat processors, smallgoods manufacturers and independent butchers are forced to pay. The weakening of the red meat supply chain could be the next crisis facing Australian farmers if nothing is done to support one of Australia’s largest regional and rural employer groups, many of which are small businesses.
