Tim Ryan, Interim CEO

Tim was appointed CEO in 2025, and previously lead AMICs Industry Affairs team, which managed AMIC’s biosecurity, traceability, sustainability, animal welfare, industry standards and economic programs and advocacy work. Tim has close to ten years’ experience in the Australian red meat industry, with roles spanning market research, economic services, business development, and trade and market access.

Prior to joining AMIC, Tim worked at Meat & Livestock Australia for over eight years, with positions in the National Livestock Reporting Service, Market Information Team, and International Markets Team, including a three-year posting to Singapore. Tim worked across an array of program areas, including industry forecasting, supply-chain and market analysis, and non-tariff barrier alleviation.

Tim was a committee member of the Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Association for seven years, with stints as treasurer and national team coach, where he developed a passion for supporting young people entering the red meat industry. Tim has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Economics) and is completing a Master of International Trade and Development. Tim grew up on a sheep property in central Victoria.

Stuart Fuller, General Manager – Retail Business

Stuart heads up the Retail group, with State Managers, Member Relationship Officers and a Retail Services and Event Coordinator, working across the various states, to provide services and value to our retail members, the Independent Local Butcher. The Retail team promote the importance and value of the Independent Local Butcher across Australia, attracting youth to be a part of the industry, and work with AMIC’s National Retail Council and State Councils to ensure strong representation on policy development, reform and transformation.

Stuart has over 15 years’ experience in membership operations which included marketing, events, advertising, and business development. Previous sectors include retail, sport, and community. He has delivered digital transformation projects and integrated marketing campaigns. His previous roles include Instore Communications and Go to Market with Coles; Advertising and Creative Executive with Melbourne Racing Club; and Database Marketing, Merchandise and Membership Operations with Essendon Football Club.

Sam Munsie, General Manager – Trade and Technical Affairs

Sam brings over a decade of experience in international trade and negotiations to his role of AMIC General Manager, Trade and Technical Affairs which he commenced in 2022.

Sam’s extensive background within the Commonwealth Government includes roles with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Austrade.

Prior to AMIC, Sam was Director for Meat Market Access, and previously held positions managing multiple markets to deliver trade policy and programs covering plant and animal market access, as well as international trade and logistics. Sam has a history of delivering trade outcomes for Australian meat and agricultural industries, which includes leadership of the agriculture stream to develop the International Freight Assistance Mechanism at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sam has represented Australia at a number of international forums, including the World Trade Organization, and holds Science and Commerce degrees from the Australian National University as well as postgraduate qualifications in public administration from the University of Canberra.

Oliver heads up the Smallgoods sector along with managing the Project Services portfolio which provides project and reporting oversight for AMIC’s industry grants programs and industry partner program. Oliver has over 20 years’ experience within business services and has worked on meat industry matters since 2014, predominantly in SME retail and prior to joining AMIC, represented SME retailers working for the peak industry association for newsagents.

With a degree in Business Management and Advanced Diploma in Sales Management, Oliver is specialised in delivering administrative and membership support services to maximise efficiencies and organisational standards in association management.

Jemma is responsible for leading AMIC’s Corporate Affairs portfolio, which includes strategic oversight of workforce services, media relations, corporate communications, and member engagement.

Jemma Harper, General Manager – Corporate Affairs

Jemma joined AMIC in 2024, bringing extensive experience from the red meat processing industry. She has a strong track record in leading large-scale R&D projects and managing complex stakeholder relationships across the red meat supply chain, with a focus on improving the industry’s economic, social, and environmental sustainability.

Her career began at a lamb processing facility in South West Victoria, where she gained in-depth knowledge of integrated small stock processing and red meat supply chains. Jemma has built a diverse career portfolio across communications, community development, research, marketing, exports, sales, finance, and customer management. A passionate advocate for Australian agriculture, she has consistently championed initiatives to support the sector’s growth and resilience.

Beyond the red meat industry, Jemma has also worked in Natural Resource Management, where she led the development of the Corangamite region’s National Landcare Program funding submission for the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA).

Jemma holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality), and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. Raised on a small agricultural property in South West Victoria, she remains deeply committed to the sustainability and future of primary production.
