Professionals from across the Australian meat industry are set to reconnect at the upcoming Meat Business Women Conference in Sydney on Wednesday 26 October. Hosted by the Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) as the Australian Territory Partner, and facilitated by Giaan Rooney, OAM and Olympian, delegates will come together as part of the global membership community that is Meat Business Women.

The impressive line-up of speakers includes Dr Temple Grandin, Distinguished Professor or Animal Science, Colorado State University, who will appear via live cross from Colorado, USA; Natalie Sommerville, President Australian Women in Agriculture, who will present her thought-provoking and inspiring insights into cultural diversity and inclusion; and Robyn Verrall, 2022 SA AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Winner who will share her story and the fantastic program she initiated to bring affordable meats to families and communities.

Delegates will also hear from Harriet Mellish, Head of Strategy and Transformation, Coles, on meat category consumer insights; The Hon Dugald Saunders MP, NSW Agriculture Minister on key areas of his industry portfolio; along with a global update from MBW Founder and Global Chair Laura Ryan.

“Meat Business Women is a great networking organisation that encourages women working across the meat supply chain to collaborate, discuss, make change, and influence the future direction of the industry,” said MBW Australia Chair, Stacey McKenna.

“In addition to hearing from inspiring speakers doing great things, it is also, and primarily, an opportunity to network and make connections for personal growth and development and enhance your career in the meat industry.”
